# Connect DoorOps to Claude

Claude can connect to DoorOps using a custom remote MCP connector. Your company needs MCP access enabled, and your Claude account or workspace must allow custom connectors.

## Set up the connection

1. Open **Customize → Connectors** in Claude and choose **+ Add → Add custom connector**.
2. Name it **DoorOps** and enter **`https://doorops.com/mcp/connect`** as the remote server URL.
3. Continue through the detected authentication settings. Choose OAuth sign-in; if Claude asks how to identify its OAuth client, choose **Register automatically**.
4. Complete the DoorOps sign-in and check the company and requested access before allowing it.
5. Enable DoorOps for the conversation through the chat's **+ → Connectors** menu.

Start with:

> Tell me which DoorOps company and role I am connected as, and what I can access.

## Team and plan requirements

Anthropic currently documents custom remote connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise; Free is limited to one custom connector. On Team, an owner adds it first under **Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web**. Enterprise also permits a custom role with **Manage access to Libraries**. Members then find it under Customize and connect their own DoorOps accounts.

This guide uses DoorOps' automatic OAuth registration, so you do not need to paste a password, API key or client secret into the conversation. See [Claude's current setup guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) for your plan's controls.

## What to ask

- “Find this customer and show their sites and open jobs.”
- “Summarise recent defects recorded against this door.”
- “Show timesheets awaiting review.”
- “Prepare moving this booking and show any conflicts before I confirm.”

Claude uses your existing DoorOps role and enabled features. Ask it to present exact changes, recipients and consequences before a write or send, then approve the specific proposal. See the [MCP guide](/docs/developers/mcp) for workflow previews and safeguards.

## Recover or disconnect

If Claude asks for an OAuth client ID, check that **Register automatically** was selected. For missing tools, check MCP access and your connected company/role. Reconnect through Claude if authorization expires. For HTTP 429, wait for `Retry-After` before retrying once.

Disconnect the Claude connector and revoke it under **DoorOps → Settings → Connected apps** to stop access. Adding a custom connector is separate from Anthropic directory verification.
