IntegrationsConnect DoorOps to ChatGPT
Connect DoorOps to ChatGPT
Create a custom DoorOps app in ChatGPT, sign in with OAuth and use your company records within your role and approval rules.
Connect DoorOps as a custom MCP app in ChatGPT to use company records in a conversation. External AI connections are included on every DoorOps plan, within your role and enabled features. Your ChatGPT plan and workspace must allow the connection.
New to DoorOps?
Start a 30-day free trial. No card is required and nothing is charged automatically. Create your company workspace and use its sample records to try the workflow straight away. If you start from an AI app connection, signup returns you to the DoorOps approval screen so you can finish connecting. Review the company and access before approving.
When your trial ends, choose and pay for a plan in DoorOps Billing to continue. Existing trial end dates are honoured.
Set up the connection
- Open ChatGPT on the web. Enable Developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, if your account and workspace permit it.
- Choose Apps → Create in your user settings, or Workspace settings → Apps → Create as an administrator.
- Name the app DoorOps and enter
https://doorops.com/mcp/connectas the MCP server URL. Choose OAuth authentication. - Complete the DoorOps sign-in. Check the company and requested access on the consent screen before allowing it.
- Select DoorOps in a new chat or mention the app when a task needs fresh DoorOps data.
Start with:
Tell me which DoorOps company and role I am connected as, and what I can access.
Plan and workspace requirements
OpenAI currently documents full MCP read/write support for Business, Enterprise and Edu on the web. Business setup is restricted to administrators/owners; Enterprise/Edu can grant developer access through workspace permissions. An administrator can publish a reviewed custom app for their workspace.
Pro users can use read/fetch MCP connections in developer mode. Custom apps are not available in ChatGPT mobile apps or agent mode. Availability, menu names and workspace policy can change; check OpenAI's current guidance if the option is missing.
What to ask
- “Show the open jobs for this customer.”
- “Summarise this door's service history, linking the records.”
- “Show forms awaiting office review.”
- On a plan allowing writes: “Prepare this job update and show the exact changes before I approve it.”
Your DoorOps role and enabled features still determine access. For changes, review the actual proposal and consequences before confirming. The MCP guide explains previews, safeguards and supported workflows.
Refresh, recover or disconnect
If the app has old or missing tools, ask an administrator to review and refresh its actions in workspace app settings where supported. Reconnect if sign-in expires. For HTTP 429, wait for Retry-After before retrying once.
Disconnect in ChatGPT and revoke access under DoorOps → Settings → Connected apps. A custom workspace connection and a public directory listing have separate approval processes.
